2009 Lexus IS 250C Convertible
Toyota’s premium brand has finally presented its new 2009 Lexus IS 250C coupe convertible. Equipped with a three-piece folding roof made of aluminum, the car takes only 20 seconds to get its top dropped. The convertible, which was presented to general public yesterday at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, will go on sale in spring 2009 in the United States and will come back to Europe and the UK in summer.

Like most expensive coupe and convertibles do, the only body parts that the 2009 Lexus IS 250C shares with the four-door 2009 Lexus IS, is the vehicle’s hood, head lamps and door handles. The rest of the car was completely redesigned to make the convertible look more self-sufficient. Lexus says that the IS 250C will be equipped with the one and only 205bhp 2.5-liter V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The new and attractive Lexus IS 250C convertible has been finally unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The IS 250C convertible offers all the features buyers have come to expect from a luxury convertible, including a power-folding hard top, 6 speed automatic transmission and a decent, if underwhelming, gasoline V6 engine.
The IS 250C shares its smooth 205bhp (208 DIN hp) 2.5-litre petrol V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission with the IS 250 saloon.

It has been styled to offer minimal wind turbulence when driving with the top down and extensive revisions to the body structure and suspension provide the right degree of torsional stiffness to ensure a level of ride comfort appropriate for a Lexus. In coupe trim, the car’s low NVH performance is on a par with that of the IS saloon.

The new coupe/convertible is the third model in the IS range, joining the IS petrol and diesel-powered sports saloon and the ultra-high performance 5.0-litre V8-powered IS F, which introduced the F Sports designation to the line-up earlier this year.
