“February 18, 2010 – Honda will begin sales in Thailand of a new Cub-type automatic transmission (AT) scooter model, Wave110i AT, in March of this year through A. P. Honda Co., Ltd., a Honda affiliate responsible for distribution of Honda motorcycle products in Thailand. Based on the Wave110i, which is highly acclaimed for its fuel efficiency, the Wave110i AT features a new automatic transmission called CV-Matic. The starting price will be 44,900 baht, with an annual sales plan of 50,000 units. (1 baht = approximately 2.7 yen).

CV-Matic makes the Wave110i AT a product that offers both the typical characteristics of Cub-type bikes such as longer riding range, durability and superior cost-performance as well as added characteristics such as ease of operation and comfortable ride. In addition to Thailand, Honda has plans for the sequential introduction of Wave110i AT in Vietnam and neighboring countries to meet the diversifying needs of customers in ASEAN markets.

The CV-Matic features a new cooling system which solved the issue of heat load on drive belt, and was developed based on the small-motorcycle automatic transmission technologies Honda has been fostering over the years. This new system enhances the durability of the drive belt and allows for a more compact design with a shorter distance between the drive pulley and driven pulley. Due to this advance, the engine position does not need to be significantly altered, optimizing design layout freedom.

Industry-wide motorcycle sales in Thailand in 2009 totaled approximately 1.54 million units (down 10% compared to 2008). With sales of approximately 1.01 million units, more than 60% of the industry sales total, Honda has been the best-selling motorcycle brand in Thailand for 21 consecutive years. Due to the added comfort and ease-of-operation, the overall sales of AT models has been growing in Thailand, accounting for approximately 710,000 units, or approximately half of the market size in 2009.

With the introduction of the Wave110i AT, an AT model of the already popular Wave110i, Honda will further enhance its product lineup to meet the diversifying customer needs. Moreover, Honda is planning to install Honda’s programmed fuel injection system (PGM-FI) to all models sold in Thailand by the end of 2010.”

The engine of Honda PCX is 125 cc 4 cylinder with ECE 40 mode cycles feature. With the help of this technology, is capable of driving scooter as far as 50 km with a consumption of 1 liter of fuel only. Honda PCX will also equipped with idling stop system and combi brake.

This bike bring “Smart Styling”, “Smart Performance”, and “Smart Convenient”concepts. It uses similiar engine which one use on Honda Blade. Compared to the former Revo, it has bigger engine capacity, but Honda claimed that it consume 5% fuel concumtion.

This bike alsofeatured with EFT (efficient & low friction technology) which will keep the engine live longger. Honda also claim that it can run until 54,8km for 1 liter fuel. It gain 200 m in 13.06 seconds with highest speed up to 92,8 km/h.

It uses a V-twin engine developed from the Deauville’s 65bhp, 680cc unit. But instead of conventional gears, the DN-01’s engine is connected to a hydraulic pump, which sends hydraulic fluid to a turbine driving the rear wheel via a shaft.

The DN-01 could offer enormous appeal to current car drivers looking to make the switch to motorcycles, but waiting for the right machine to come along to prompt them to do so. By offering them things they’re used to (automatic transmissions and storage space) combined with an image that adapts traditional outsider opinion of what a motorcycle should look like into a package that doesn’t scream “I have back hair,” the DN-01 could be the right bike for a lot of new riders. Combine all that with its sensible engine capacity and incredibly low seat height and you have an upmarket product that’s appealing and accessible in ways never before possible on two wheels.

According to Miki Yamamoto, the President Director of AHM, the new Honda Blade comes with three main concepts: styling, performance, and personality. With this three main special features, Honda will the market competition with the slogan “Winning with Blade“.

Yamamoto says that this bike does not use PGM FI technology because using the usual carburetor, it still comply with the government Euro II standard and resulting significant cost down. He also says that it doesn’t to substitute the former Revo, but it has it’s own class, between the Revo and Supra PGM FI.

After releasing it’s new sport type bikes with asymmetric front lamp, Honda Tiger Revo 08, Honda will release it’s 2008 new cubs variant tomorrow (November 4), named Honda Blade. In Thailand, it’s variant has already launched last July, named Honda CZ1. Like it’s former type, Honda Supra X 125, it also featured with PGM FI technology. PGM FI is Honda’s technology which allows it’s engine running on low fuel consumtion but quite having high performance.

The PGM FI technology iscontrolled using ECU (Electronic Controlled Unit) which work silmuntantenously with other technology such as fuel injecto, fuel pum, and Idle Air Control Valve. Another new thing found on this bike may be thefront lamp design which is not mounted on it’s handle, but on it’s body. Do people will love it? the time will prove!
